Ruth Maguire (MSP for Cunninghame South) recently highlighted the work of Anam Cara (a Dementia Respite Unit) in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire in the Scottish Parliament, as well as linking the organisation with Generations Working Together. Last week she helped out with the intergenerational quiz that took place in the centre.
On September 6th 2017 Generations Working Together had a motion heard in parliament which was brought by Christine Grahame MSP. She highlighted the work of the charity, as well as other local intergenerational projects such as the Newbyres Nursery/Care home project. This is the full text from the motion.
Daria Belostotckaia is a James Martin Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing and a PhD candidate in Vienna University, the faculty of psychology. Her article on age friendly cities was originally published on the University of Oxford for the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing. In this article she looks at how cities plan to improve age friendliness and examples of good practice.
