Aberdeen Older People's Forum

Over the summer, Aberdeen hosted a Scottish Older People’s Assembly gathering, where participants agreed that there should be a forum for older people in Aberdeen.

Following on from this, the first meeting of Aberdeen Older People’s Forum will take place on 9th November 2017, from 1:30-3:30pm, in the Town House (Committee Room 5).

This meeting will be a chance to shape the forum, its aims and its format (also its name). Its overall purpose will be to ensure that older people’s voices are heard. This may include:

· Highlighting areas of concern and communicating these to decision-makers
· Helping people use their skills and experience to develop solutions
· Promoting opportunities for active citizenship
· Using technology to engage more people

What the Forum will look like depends on who gets involved and what they want to focus on. We hope you can attend the meeting on 9th November and help create a space in Aberdeen for older people’s voices to be heard.
