Chalmers Community Pipe Band

The Bad News:
Most of the learners left.

The Good News:
Most of the learners left and joined a more established band, one with pipes and drums, in Stonehouse. The decision was taken with no raised voices and no tears. Just a good discussion between the generations who came to the conclusion that things would be better in a ‘real’ band. To witness that discussion was pleasing.

Also, there is still a learners’ band in Chalmers Church, Strutherhill, Larkhall. So come along and be part of the fabric and if you feel you need to be part of a more established band I’ll put you in contact with Stonehouse. Stonehouse have learners and players from 8 years to 80 years of age and they too value the intergenerational aspect of their set up.
