Generation game

The generation game in Peebles is proving to be a winner following a tie up between a local nursery and a sheltered housing complex.

Every Monday afternoon the three- and four-year-olds from First Nursery drop in to visit the residents of Dovecot Court.

And the visits are proving to be a hit with both the children and the pensioners, as songs are sung, stories are told and laughter fills the air.

Allison Moffat, deputy manager at First Nursery, explained: “This time is proving very valuable for both the elderly tenants and the children as they are getting to spend quality time together – singing songs and nursery rhymes which appeals to both ends of the age spectrum.
