Older people’s event in Banchory

The older people’s forum in Banchory, along with Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action, is organising a community event for older people on 7th October in the West Church, Banchory.

The morning (from 10am to 12 noon) will be an opportunity to find out about services and activities for older people across Aberdeenshire as well as about changes happening in health and social care provision. There will be stalls from a range of organisations on volunteering, health matters, self directed support, welfare issues and lots more. There will also be workshops on setting up and running an older people’s forum, more on self directed support, a chance to have your say on a review of Social Work transport policy and an opportunity to relax and try tai chi. The event is free and there will be tea and coffee available.

The afternoon session from 1pm to 2.30pm will be a meeting of the Aberdeenshire older people’s forum followed by a chance to meet and ask questions of Iain Ramsay, the new manager for Aberdeenshire South of the recently formed Health and Social Care Partnership.

Anyone is welcome to come to part or all of the event on 7th October.
