Recruiting volunteers in Perth and Auchterarder

The idea of the new project is to bring together younger and older people to work together on projects and activities which will raise attainment in literacy and numeracy, building respect and understanding between the generations.

These activities will be taking place in Perth Grammar School and The Community School of Auchterarder.

GWT is seeking older volunteers (40 years and older) who have 2-6 hours spare each week to take part in a variety of projects held within the two schools which will help students aged from 4-14 years improve their numeracy and literacy skills. No experience is required as full training will be given and each volunteer will be supported by our Development Officer, Maureen O’Reilly.

There are great benefits for both younger and older people to get involved in this project including:

  • learning and sharing new skills
  • making new friends
  • recognition and use of experience, talents and skills
  • and most importantly having fun.

Travel expenses for volunteers will be available.

To apply or to find out more information please contact Maureen O’Reilly (Intergenerational Development Officer) by email or by calling 07927 550730.
