Three Generations of Women in Scotland - Research Project

We are looking for three generations of women (daughter, mother and grandmother) to take part in research into how families shape women’s identities and what it means to be a woman in Scotland. Each person will be interviewed individually for up to one hour and asked your opinions towards a range of topics such as: who shaped your views of how women should be, your perception of different couple relationships within your family or whether you have discussed birth control with the women in your family. The aim is to get a picture of how women understand their role and whether they see this as different or similar to women of other generations within their family. This research is also being conducted in Poland (by researchers at a university in Poland) in order to compare the results between the two countries. Every woman needs to be over the age of 18 years and each family group needs to include a woman in their mid-70s or older.

If you are interested in taking part, or know of someone who might be, please email Dr Fiona McQueen or call on 0797 361 7557 so that she can send you information to discuss this opportunity with your family.
