#GIW25 Day 6 - 29/04 - Let's develop intergenerational workplaces
Tuesday 29th April 2025, 10:00am - 11:30am
Online via Zoom
Loek Hageman from our sponsors Bayer, will open our workplace webinar at 10am (British Summer Time).
With the loss of so many community spaces in which generations came together and learnt from and about each other, the workplace is now the main space in which generational groups often meet for the first time.
How can we make the most of this opportunity through applying an intergenerational lens to the workplace?
A topical workplace focused webinar especially for #GIW25.

JUMP Generations
Presentation focus - Breaking the Silos: Why Intergenerational Bonds Matter at Work and in Life In a world where generations often operate in silos—whether in companies, families, or society at large—how can we foster deeper connections that benefit everyone? Just as strong intergenerational ties enrich our personal lives, they are just as crucial in the workplace. But how do we move from coexistence to true collaboration ?
Join us for a dynamic webinar where we’ll explore the power of intergenerational bonds in organizations. Through a debate, every voice—regardless of age or experience—will be heard, without taboos or judgment. In just 10 minutes, we’ll try to challenge perspectives and spark new ideas to shifting from a siloed society to a more cooperative way of working and living.
Are you ready to step into the conversation?
Porto Dome - Marisa Toldo
When my father was living with dementia, I faced a choice no one should have to make: my career or his care. For over 20 years, I helped global organizations create spaces that shape how we work and live—but suddenly, work and life collided. And the system wasn’t built for either. I saw firsthand what millions of professionals—especially women—experience every day: the impossible choice between career and caregiving.
So I decided to change it.
That’s why I created Porto Dome—a vision for intergenerational workplace. A model where businesses thrive, employees stay, and generations connect. The future of work isn’t just about AI, automation, or hybrid offices. It’s about community, dignity, and care.
Presentation Focus – Let’s Develop Intergenerational Workplaces
Right now, businesses, governments, and communities are missing a massive opportunity—because they’re ignoring the power of intergenerational workplace.
• The Global Cost – Millions leave the workforce due to caregiving demands. The economy loses talent, communities lose connections, and families are left struggling.
• The Smarter Solution – Workplaces that integrate care across generations aren’t just better for business—they build stronger, more connected societies.
• Porto Dome in Action – A bold way to embed intergenerational care into the workplace—without disrupting existing structures.
• Your Role – This isn’t just for businesses. Governments, NGOs, and communities all play a role. The future of work must include every generation.
This isn’t about adjusting to change. It’s about leading it.
The companies, cities, and societies that embrace this shift will set the standard for the next era of work. The ones that don’t? They’ll be left behind.
Which one will you be?

In 2024, through the Find a Solution 2024 – Student Internship Programme, Glasgow University, GWT employed a Research Intern, Asymina Aza, to explore the challenges and benefits of a multi-generational workforce in Scotland, both for employers and employees. During this session we will be sharing the interesting key findings from her report and the ways in which GWT Age Awareness in the Workplace training can instigate change.
