Men across Generations
Wednesday 5th May 2021, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Come along and explore ideas of connecting with men and intergenerational work in our communities. There are men of all ages in our communities who may be able to pass on skills gained from their career. Intergenerational work allows the participants to pass on skills and knowledge to younger people, as well as forming intergenerational relationships. Often we miss the fact that older people and younger people can learn from each other as well as providing advice and support.
The event will be introduced by Graham Hewitson, Generations Working Together Chair. We have the company and experiences of:
Bruce Newlands, Winner of Men’s Shed of the Year 2020 who will touch upon Shed Community, Community Gardening, Virtual Carving Club.
Gino Satti who will share some experiences on intergenerational activities involving young people in some of the work that he does in the community. He will also will also talk about his involvement in ‘Sing@Loud’ and some other work involving men in intergenerational relationships and learning.
This network event is the first one exploring ideas of working with men on an intergenerational theme. We plan another event later in the year to explore sport, lifelong learning and other activities.
