Global Intergenerational Week

Thank you for making Global Intergenerational Week 2023 so special!

See what took place during GIW23 Below:

Welcome to Global Intergenerational Week, an annual campaign celebrating all things intergenerational. The campaign looks to inspire individuals, groups, organisations, local/national government, and NGOs to fully embrace intergenerational practice, connecting people of different generations in intentional, mutually beneficial activities. It is an opportunity to celebrate good practice, ideas, moments, and opportunities local to us where different age groups come together, and intergenerational friendships can be formed! It provides an opportunity to share and discuss, on a global platform, creative and effective new ways of connecting generations.

Host a Mix and Mingle!

This year we're asking you to host an Intergenerational Mix and Mingle event during Global Intergenerational Week 2023. The format of this can be totally flexible - we just want to see you bring people of different generations together in exciting and creative ways! Click here to see our Poster and Actvities Guide.

If you are planning to host an Intergenerational Mix and Mingle, we'd love to know. Register yours here!

Take part in our Photo Diary Challenge!

Take part in our Intergenerational Photo Diary challenge, where you will find four intergenerational tasks to be completed in the weeks leading up to Global Intergenerational Week. Reflect on your activity, attach a photo and send it to us - we'd love to see what you've been up to! Download your Photo Diary Pack here.  Be sure to keep us updated on your challenges on social media using #GIW23.

This year, we are bringing together 15 countries from around the world to celebrate all things intergenerational. Our launch event will offer a brief history of Global Intergenerational Week, will look at some past events and projects and will offer some insight into what you can expect this year; all focused on bringing generations together and promoting understanding and collaboration between people of all ages. Each day of Global Intergenerational Week will take on a different theme, including health, ageism, and discussions on local and global partnerships. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about best practices in different countries and how we can work together to create a more inclusive and harmonious world.

Sign up now to secure your spot and learn more about how you can get involved in Global Intergenerational Week 2023.
