Ayrshire

*Welcome to the Ayrshire Network*
Network meetings are hosted across various locations in Ayrshire as the area is widespread geographically, the location varies each time to reach communities. We welcome the inexperienced and new to intergenerational practice and those who are more experienced too. It is a time to connect, share and inspire and be inspired by other likeminded people in your local community.
September 2025 Meeting
Thanks to all those who came along to our recent Ayrshire Network meeting on Thursday 4th September in Irvine. It was great to have so many different groups and organisations attending, with 18 attendees there was certainly plenty to talk about. We welcomed new members to the network, keen to find out more about intergenerational practice, and benefited from hearing from members sharing their experiences of current and previous intergenerational projects. Plenty of connections were made within the meeting and current successful projects and challenges were shared with the network. Thanks to NODA for hosting and for providing much needed refreshments too.
The photograph above is a mural undertaken as a community project in Kilbirnie led by North Ayrshire’s Connected Communities. Everyone was welcome to join in and soon younger and older were involved, forging connections between the generations in the community. Thanks to Gavin Ferguson for sharing this.
We are looking to recruit a volunteer intergenerational community connector for GWT in the Ayrshire network. If you would like to get more involved in intergenerational working, learn more about the practice and help grow intergenerational relationships in your local area this is the role for you. To find out more click here.
We are keen to deliver training in the area too, if this is of an interest contact Corrina or telephone 07897572118 for further information.
