October 2025 – briefing
A warm thank you to CVS Falkirk for hosting our October Forth Valley Network Meeting. During the session, we were delighted to present one of GWT’s Excellence Awards in the category Valuing Generational Diversity and Inclusion to Park Drive Nursery and Gowanlea Care Home in Stirling. It was inspiring to hear directly from the team about their intergenerational work—full of positive experiences, meaningful learning, and strong motivation to continue building connections.

We were also thrilled to welcome a Deputy Head Teacher and four pupils from Moray Primary School in Grangemouth, who shared their plans to research and engage with older adults in their local community. Their enthusiasm added a wonderful energy to the discussion.

Another key topic explored was volunteering within intergenerational programmes, and it was a pleasure to meet two members of CVS Falkirk to talk further on this important area.

Further info
Our Network meetings provide an opportunity for intergenerational practitioners to come together. It is also for those who are thinking about a project to bring different generations together but would like some support and direction. It is a space to learn, connect and share with other like minded people who are facing similar challenges as yourself. Challenges of engaging volunteers, challenges of resourcing funding or reaching the most suitable partner for you to develop your intergenerational idea with.

If you are currently supporting an intergenerational project or planning one we’d love to hear from you so please do get in touch with Alison.
