Glasgow Learning Roadshow
Thank you to the Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren for hosting our Intergenerational Learning Roadshow in Glasgow City Chambers on 24th April 2026. Opened by the Lord Provost, the event kick-started Global Intergenerational Week 2026. Thanks to our presenters, Lynn Gow (North Lanarkshire Council), Kirsty Gibbons (Yoker Resource Centre) and Heather Dundas ( Gilded Lily) for their inspiring presentations and sharing valuable insights into the impact of their intergenerational projects. Productive roundtable discussions followed delving deeper into intergenerational practice and how to further develop this in our local communities. With connections made and plans afoot, we are looking forward to hearing about more intergenerational projects in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
Networks
Network meetings are hosted across various locations in Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire, as the area is widespread geographically, the location varies each time to reach communities. We welcome the inexperienced and new to intergenerational practice and those who are more experienced too. Our network meetings are a time to connect, share and inspire and be inspired by other likeminded people in your local community.
March 2026 Meeting
Our most recent Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire network meeting took place on Tuesday 10th March 2026 in NSPCC Hub, Glasgow. Many thanks to Caoimhe Walsh at NSPCC for hosting the meeting and providing the refreshments too. It was great to connect with those who made it along and here about their current and future intergenerational projects. We had some very productive discussions surrounding the planning of intergenerational projects and Caoimhe was able to give practical advice on safe guarding and risk assessments which was beneficial to all. We are looking to recruit a volunteer intergenerational community connector for GWT in the Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire network. If you would like to get more involved in intergenerational working, learn more about the practice and help grow intergenerational relationships in your local area this is the role for you.
