Greater Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

Welcome to the Greater Renfrewshire & Inverclyde Network
Our network meetings are hosted across various locations in Renfrewshire and Inverclyde as the area is widespread geographically, the location varies each time to reach communities. We welcome the inexperienced and new to intergenerational practice and those who are more experienced too. It is a time to connect, share and inspire and be inspired by other likeminded people in your local community. We will also take part in activities and learn about ideas and resources that you may be able to use in your intergenerational practice.
Visit to Rashielee Care Home
I had a great visit to Rashielee Care Home in Erskine to join in one of their intergenerational sessions with Rashielea Primary School. Every Tuesday afternoon a group of Primary 5 pupils come with their teacher, Miss Laurie, to meet with their ‘Grandbuddies’. They enjoyed chatting with each other, listening to music together and playing games, there was even some online shopping on the iPads. Thanks to Kirsty and Christine from the care home and Miss Laurie for making me feel so welcome. It didn’t take long for me to join in with the conversations between the pupils and residents and appreciate the special friendships made between young and old.
September 2025 Meeting
It was great to see so many coming along to our recent network meeting on Tuesday 9th of September in Kilmacolm. With 16 attendees there was plenty to discuss, and conversations ranged from sharing successes of local intergenerational projects to some of the challenges we face with the logistics of organising transport or funding projects. All agreed establishing effective working partnerships was key to planning and organising intergenerational projects. Many were new to the network, keen to find out more about intergenerational practices and how they can integrate these into their current groups and organisations. We all benefited from hearing from those in the network more experienced in running intergenerational projects and the impact this has had on their older and younger generations.
We are keen to deliver training in the area too, if this is of an interest contact Corrina or telephone 07897572118 for further information.
