Welcome to the Lanarkshire Network

The next in-person meeting of the Lanarkshire Intergenerational Network will take place in autumn 2026, date and location to be confirmed.

Our Network meetings are informal and welcoming sessions which offer an opportunity to connect with others passionate about intergenerational work, share learning and experiences, and hear about developments across the local area. It’s an ideal space to build partnerships, gain practical insights, and spark new ideas to strengthen intergenerational practice in your community.

March 2026 Meeting
Our most recent Lanarkshire meeting took place on Wednesday 11 March 2026 in Motherwell. It was great to connect with all who came along and shared their current and future intergenerational projects. Thanks to Lynn Gow, Lisa Carroll and Louise Whomes from North Lanarkshire Council for delivering an inspiring presentation on their current Digital Intergenerational Project. School pupils have been visiting care homes and older adult groups to help share their digital skills. Through this, strong connections have developed between the older and younger participants that have spread to the community. To find out more about the initiative, you can watch the film here. GWT is currently recruiting Volunteer Intergenerational Community Connectors across Scotland. We are specifically looking for a volunteer to help support and grow the Grampian network. If you’re interested in getting more involved in intergenerational practice and helping strengthen intergenerational connections in your local area, this could be a great opportunity for you.
