Befriending Week

Not long to go and there’s already a buzz around Befriending Week 1-7 November 2020!

This year’s hashtag #BefriendingIs is catching on as befriending projects share what befriending means to them, with the 100 Days & 2 Months to Befriending Week announcements reaching 32K impressions on Twitter. 377 Befriending Week Resource Packs have been downloaded and 1058 downloaded social media graphics are ready to light up your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and all the other platforms’ news feeds. The increased visibility of befriending in the news, online and in our communities, which our collective efforts create leading up to and during Befriending Week, is an opportunity to raise awareness about the impact of befriending and inspire others to get involved.

During Befriending Week, our team looks forward to welcoming delegates to our first ever Online Annual Conference 3-5 November. Annual Conference is always one of the highlights in Befriending Networks’ calendar and we’re striving to ensure this year’s conference will be a memorable and meaningful experience for the membership. Each day highlights an aspect of what #BefriendingIs and will include keynote speakers, interactive workshops and networking opportunities.

We also look forward to sharing stories from our membership of what #BefriendingIs throughout the week right here on our News page as well as on social media. If you have a story to share, email admin@befriending.co.uk as soon as possible, as our story calendar is filling up quickly! Every year, our members organise incredible and creative ways to celebrate Befriending Week, so make sure to email, message, or tag us in your social media posts so we can spread the word about the amazing things you are doing.

Lastly, we would like to recognise the effort of our members. What you have achieved throughout this challenging year has been absolutely incredible and has proved befriending to be powerful, adaptable, and exactly what so many have needed right now. That is worth celebrating.
