New Appointment

Chairperson for the Scottish Older People’s Assembly – a voice of older people in Scotland.

Due to retirement, the Scottish Older People’s Assembly is looking for a skilled chairperson with knowledge and appreciation of governing a Scottish Charitable Organisation and issues of concern to older people.

Also required is an understanding of the democratic processes by which older people can influence the Scottish Government, the Westminster Government, local authorities, the NHS and other public, statutory and commercial organisations, as appropriate.

The successful candidate will be practised in facilitation, leadership of a Scottish Charity and have an ability to run a meeting well, maximise the contributions of participants and act as a spokesperson and figurehead, where necessary.

It is expected that this role will not exceed an average of five days per month.

The position is not remunerated, but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
