Global Intergenerational Week 2022

Join us for the online launch of the first Global Intergenerational Week, a campaign linking everyone who is passionate about connecting different generations and reducing ageism.

As we emerge from the pandemic it is now vital that we create opportunities to build, strengthen and celebrate relationships between different age groups. These relationships will help rebuild our communities, reduce isolation and loneliness, improve health and mental wellbeing and reduce ageism.

The launch will open with a keynote speech from Heléna Herklots CBE, Older People’s Commissioner for Wales. Heléna has led and contributed to a number of UK Government advisory groups covering topics including care and support, housing, dementia, and carers. You will meet the Executive Team who are leading the campaign and some of our international country leads. We are encouraging charity and government (local and national) officials and representatives from all sectors to come along and support the week. At our online campaign launch, you will hear how you can get involved and why it’s vital for our society.

Previously a UK campaign Intergenerational Week now, in its third year, is going global. The goal is to inspire individuals, groups, organisations, local/national government, and NGO’s to fully embrace intergenerational practice, connecting people of all ages especially the younger and older generations. The campaign will celebrate good practice, ideas, moments and share opportunities local to us where different age groups can come together, and intergenerational friendships can be formed! This launch is open to all, no matter where you are based and you can learn about key messages, volunteering, and more.
