Volunteer with Us

Come and Join us

Generations Working Together (GWT) have volunteer opportunities available. These roles are varied and may suit people who are looking to volunteer but do not want it to be a weekly schedule. We are keen to involve communities and to link in with localities to strengthen Scotland in becoming and Intergenerational Nation. Part of this encourages us to look at Age Friendly Communities and to look at ageism and stereotypes and how we can connect people and build on the assets that each community has. Your role with GWT would involve helping to fulfil our aims and objectives by performing your volunteering role acting as a positive ambassador. We are looking for individuals with an interest in the following volunteer places:

Local Volunteer Network Coordinator’s
This role is something that asks individuals if they have some time to act/ assist as a network coordinator in their own local area. Your main responsibilities will include the planning, support and development of 2 – 4 network meetings each year and attendance at the volunteer coordinators meetings (held twice per year). This role will be supported by one of our intergenerational development officers and you will be guided and supported throughout. This work is designed to support GWT in creating opportunities where local people, groups and projects can come together to network and increase their knowledge and confidence around the planning, delivery and evaluation of intergenerational work.

Opportunities are available in the following local areas:

Argyll & Bute, Ayrshire, Caithness & Sutherland, Dumfries & Galloway, Glasgow & East Dunbartonshire, Highlands (across regions), Lanarkshire, Tayside.
Go here to the networks page to find out more about your local network and read up on the recent notes and meetings.

Volunteers for events
There are times when we are busy organising events such as publicity campaigns around our Annual Intergenerational Conference or Global Intergenerational Week and we have spaces for volunteering with small tasks, whether that is advertising, sharing information, telephoning and other duties.

In return you will be rewarded for any travelling expenses, take part in networks and explore intergenerational practice, be given opportunities to take part in training and attend our annual conference.

Please contact Bella if you are interested in finding out more.
