Don’t Knock Your Granny cabaret style show from Australia is coming to the Fringe

Feisty Women of Oz is a community theater group from Sydney, Australia that has been running for the last 30 years, comprising mostly of older women in their 70s and 80s.

The group is a part of the Older Women’s Network, an Australian national organisation that researches and advocates on issues that challenge the lives of older women.

They partner with local councils, educational institutions and community groups and perform at conferences and team days. Plus events like International Women’s Day, Elder Abuse Week and Volunteers Week. They have also appeared on TV and performed for the Governor General of Australia.

This year for the first time they are coming to Edinburgh Fringe Festival on the 9-11 August and Ruth Thompson
Coordinator, Feisty Women of Oz has said of the show ‘We can promise you fresh skits, plenty of humour, punchy lyrics, true stories of abuse survivors and even a puppet or two – and plenty of tears and laughter along the way.’

Ruth encourages everyone to bring their mum or gran to the show, as well sharing this event with staff, volunteers and friends.

The show will take place at 1:45pm Royal Scots Club, Abercromby Pl, Edinburgh and tickets and details are now available online
