We are delighted to launch the Generations Working Together Excellence Awards 2026—celebrating the people, partnerships and communities who are bringing generations together and making a real difference. This year’s awards will take centre stage at the Global Intergenerational Congress, with a special celebration taking place in Glasgow on the evening of Day 3. From grassroots projects to global initiatives, the awards recognise the creativity, commitment and impact of intergenerational work across the world—highlighting the powerful role it plays in building stronger, more connected communities.
Excellence Awards 2026 Entry Guide
The 2026 awards bring together local, national and international voices, ensuring there’s a place for everyone to take part.
We have created seven award categories:
- Global categories (x3) – open to projects worldwide
- Scotland-based categories (x3) – celebrating local innovation and impact
- International network category (x1) – for organisations involved in the Creating Intergenerational Communities (CIC) Network
The CIC category recognises work across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Spain, reflecting a growing international collaboration led by Generations Working Together and partners.

Each category celebrates a different aspect of intergenerational practice—from tackling ageism and strengthening communities to designing inclusive spaces and demonstrating real impact.

- Applications close: Friday 9th July 2026 (12 noon)
- Shortlisting stage and filming: 4th - 31st August 2026
Awards Ceremony: Thursday 1st October 2026
Our winners will be revealed at a special evening celebration—our Excellence Awards Hootenanny held at: Citation, Merchant City, Glasgow from 6pm (including dinner and ceilidh)
