Our international judging panel, comprising 16 experts from across the globe, were inspired by the creativity, innovation and impact demonstrated by this year's nominees.

About the Excellence Awards 2026

This year we have seven award categories:

  • Global categories (x3) – open to projects worldwide
  • Scotland-based categories (x3) – celebrating local innovation and impact
  • International network category (x1) – for organisations involved in the Creating Intergenerational Communities (CIC) Network

The CIC category recognises work across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Spain, reflecting a growing international collaboration led by Generations Working Together and partners.

Each category celebrates a different aspect of intergenerational practice—from tackling ageism and strengthening communities to designing inclusive spaces and demonstrating real impact. 

The Excellence Awards are about more than recognition—they are about celebrating learning, sharing good practice, and inspiring others.

Intergenerational work is helping to reduce loneliness, challenge stereotypes, and build more connected communities—and these awards shine a light on the people making it happen every day. Whether you are part of a small community project or a large organisation, we want to hear your story.
