Crowdfund Resource Kit

Greenspace Scotland have launched a new resource to help groups who are seeking to crowdfund park and green space projects. The kit introduces and explains the concept of crowdfunding and helps groups plan, run and deliver their crowdfunding campaigns. It is free to use but we ask you to register to download so that MyParkScotland can evaluate its use.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) seeks ‘Green Plan It’ mentors

The ‘Green Plan It’ Challenge for Secondary Schools is a ten-week project over the autumn for S2 and S3 pupils to imagine and design a garden for their school or a new outdoor community space. Students, with a mentor, carry out research before building a model of their chosen garden to bring their ideas to life. Mentors with experience in the horticulture, landscape architecture and garden design are sought to help guide small groups through the challenge spending at least one hour a week supporting the students. Community Food and Health Scotland

The Capacity Building Fund- provides small grants (£500) to support groups to build knowledge, skills and expertise in delivering food and health related activity. Annual Development Fund – groups working with or within low income communities can apply for grants between £500-2,000 for projects that improve access to a healthy, varied and balanced diet.

Greggs Foundation Environmental Grants

Grants of up to £2,000 are available for projects that deliver a real benefit to the environment. The funding can be used to cover the purchase of equipment, sessional salary costs, purchase of trees/plants, small capital projects and learning activities. Big Lottery-Early Action System Fund

The Big Lottery is inviting proposals from organisations working in partnership that aim to tackle the root cause of inequality by supporting collaborative early action and preventative programmes in Scotland. Up to 10 organisations will receive a portion of the £7.5 million funding pot, and the money can be spent over a five year period. Volunteering Matters Action Earth

If you are a group creating or improving community gardens, wildflower areas, ponds, wetlands of local green areas get in touch. Easy to access grants of up to £250 are available. Further details: Volunteering Matters.

Discovery Foundation

Grants of up to £5,000 aimed at small, local charities helping to grow knowledge, build skills and support local change. Grants are awarded on a monthly basis. More information on Santander Foundation.

WRENFCC Scottish Action Fund

Community organisations and voluntary groups can apply for funding of between £2,000 and £50,000 for community, environmental and heritage projects around landfill sites and transfer stations. Read more here: WREN.
