Funded places at Eden Project

Eden Project’s aims to improve the happiness and wellbeing of people across the UK by helping to build more resilient and better connected communities. Through Community Camp events, experiences and access to engaging resources, the Eden Project supports ordinary people to do everyday things that create extraordinary results. Through small and simple actions, people transform the places where they live and strengthen communities across the UK.

They are currently looking for people to take part in the next Community Camp in Cornwall. This is ideal for anyone volunteering and it will have a mixture of practical activities, workshop sessions and networking opportunities.

This is for anyone who wants to make a positive difference in their community. Even if you just have an idea at the moment and are looking for information and inspiration. Also open if you are running a community project already and are looking for a morale and confidence boost. This is a 4-day Community Camp offering a mixture of practical and creative activities, workshop sessions and networking opportunities for volunteers and community activists interested in connecting people in their communities.

The Community Camps, including travel to Eden, accommodation at the Eden YHA and food, are run by Eden Project Communities and are fully funded thanks to the National Lottery.

The camp will take place on 28th September-1st October and Eden Project is looking for people who:

Are committed to making a positive difference where they live,

Are ‘Do-ers’, who have a lot of potential but just need a chance – people who would flourish with the support of a UK-wide connected network of creative people who take the initiative in their community,

Are committed to go on to do something with what they gain at camp by sharing learning both with people at the camp, in their community and with the wider Eden Project Communities network.

Are just starting out on their journey (unfortunately they are unable to allocate funded places to people who are paid for a community post, or people who do things in their community as part of their job).

There’s a lot more information on the content of the camp weekend online and on youtube

Please contact the Community Network Developers in Scotland, Katie or Linda, who will have an informal chat with you to support your application if you have any questions.
