Intergenerational Fairness - what is it all about?

Join us for two FREE training sessions on the topic of Intergenerational Fairness with the School of International Futures.

Intergenerational Fairness is something that you may be interested in learning more about. The School of Intergenerational Fairness (SOIF) has a social purpose and uses foresight to unlock insights about the future. They practice foresight for a purpose: to create a fairer world for future generations and passionately believe that strategic foresight can help build better long-term futures for all generations.

SOIF have agreed to facilitate two special sessions for GWT both have limited spaces to please book soon to avoid disappointment. The details of the courses are below with links to book:

Introduction to Intergenerational Fairness on 25th November 2021 from 10am – 11am

Introduces the Framework for Intergenerational Fairness Policy Assessment developed by SOIF and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation

The Framework helps assess the impact of public policies on present and future generations and make decisions better informed by the long-term.
It can be used by national and local government, business, investors, universities, think-tanks, media and civil society.

This one-hour introductory class will:

● explore what Intergenerational Fairness is and why it is critical
● introduce strategic foresight approaches to improve long-term decision making
● introduce the Framework for Intergenerational Fairness
● help identify how it can be used in your work

Getting Started with Policy Assessment for Intergenerational Fairness on 3rd February 2022, 10am – 1pm

Introduces the Framework for Intergenerational Fairness Policy Assessment and how to use the assessment tool on an example policy.

The Framework for Intergenerational Fairness Policy Assessment was developed by SOIF and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. The Framework helps assess the impact of public policies on present and future generations and make decisions better informed by the long-term.

It can be used by national and local government, business, investors, universities, think-tanks, media and civil society.

This three-hour class will:
● provide a detailed walkthrough of the policy assessment methodology
● help you practice using the tool on an example policy
