Intergenerational Writing Projects

Generations Working Together are always looking at ideas and activities that our network across Scotland can try out. We thought that you may be interested in some novel ideas around writing, whether that is working with schools and older people in the community, sheltered housing or older people living in residential care.

Intergenerational writing is something that could be easily set up with numerous benefits across generations from challenging ageism,  breaking down steretypical barriers and increasing community cohesion for communities that are safe to grow up and grow old in.

You can work together with generations working together and find people in your network to work with and ask us advice about your intergenerational project. There are so many options available and we are delighted to offer the Intergenerational  guide on Writing from the Scottish Book Trust whch has ideas on oral history, useful resources on Generations Working Together website.

We are keen to hear from you if you are thinking of planning an Intergenerational writing project and we would really like to share your work with our network so please do get in touch if you have any plans.
