Money for Life and Youth Scotland Host National Awards Event

Money for Life and Youth Scotland are hosting an event to celebrate the achievements of inspiring young people across the Scotland.

At the event, we will crown the winners of our innovative social action competition, the Money for Life Community Challenges.

Money for Life equips 16-25 year olds across the UK with the knowledge, life skills and provision needed to manage their money. The three-year programme is delivered by Youth Scotland in partnership with UK Youth and is funded by Lloyds Banking Group.

Money for Life’s National Awards Event is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of young people around the UK as part of the Community Challenge programme. Young people from across Youth Scotland’s network have been provided with a grant to deliver their own social action project, tackling a money themed issue within their community and putting their learning into action.
Last week staff from Youth Scotland and UK Youth met to discuss which projects from the many submitted by inspiring young people across the Scotland would be invited to present as finalists at our Scottish event.

In what was a very difficult process—due to the high quality of submissions received—we have shortlisted a number of Community Challenge teams, each representing a youth project from Scotland. Each team will have 5 minutes to pitch their Community Challenge to the judges and at the end of the night, one Community Challenge will be selected to represent Scotland in London next year at the UK National Awards, all-expenses paid!

On the night we will also be offering other awards such as a people’s choice winner which will be a project voted for by the audience and providing each project a space to show off their project at a marketplace on the night.

There are some general admission tickets available for interested parties on our Eventbrite

The event will be held on Thursday November 15th 2018 5pm – 8pm
