National Conference 2019

Overview

A massive thank you to everyone who attended our conference on Wednesday 6th March 2019 in Glasgow, at University of Strathclyde, The Technology & Innovation Centre, 99 George Street, Glasgow, G1 1RD and to all our speakers, presenters, facilitators, exhibition staff and event staff and of course our GWT staff team or making the day such a success.

We had a fantastic array of presenters and workshops who gave an inspiring insight into intergenerational work taking place across Scotland, England, Spain and Poland. Key note speakers included:

  • Christina McKelvie MSP, Minister for Older People and Equalities
  • Lesley Munro, Lead Education Officer, Children and Young People, Scottish Borders Council

  • Jacqui Burke, Fashion School Ltd, Dunbar
  • Jackie Kay, Scottish Makar

One of Jackie’s poems shared on the day included Welcome Wee One is given to Newborn babies in Scotland as part of the Scottish baby box.

The Scottish Book Trust website also hosts more information on Jackie’s poems including a learning resource suitable for 14 years and over.
