Scottish Parliament debate on Global Intergenerational Week 2022

To raise the profile of intergenerational practice within Parliament, Jackie Dunbar MSP raised a Motion to hold a business member’s debate on the importance of and further development of intergenerational work across Scotland.

The session lasted 45 mins and involved contributions from eight MSP’s with the Minister for Equalities and Older People, Christina McKelvie responding to the debate and bringing the session to a close.

The session praised the work of Generations Working Together mentioning a variety of grass root projects which take place across Scotland along with the importance of developing and progressing the movement.

The Minister closed the session by saying:

“We need to build intergenerational practice into our futures – there is yet more work to be done”.
