Tackling Online Hate

The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER's) works to eliminate racial discrimination and harassment and to promote racial justice across Scotland. CRER’s work tackles structural racism in Scotland using evidence based and rights based approaches. They undertake research, policy development, lobbying, campaigning, network building and more across all areas where racial injustices persist.

Social media has transformed how we communicate, connect, and share information. However, the distance and anonymity provided by these platforms have made online hate and harassment a common feature of contemporary life. CRER has launched their report Tackling Online Hate  which included appropriate responses to Hate Crime messages online. The report can be accessed here.
