Volunteer with Generations Working Together

If you have 1-5 hours to spare over the next few months. come join us as a volunteer. You will be fully training and supported from the start and you will be able to develop your understanding of social media, campaigning, events, communities, and more.

Volunteer Requirements :

· Interest in connecting younger and older generations to make a difference in their local communities.

· Ability to learn new tasks and systems quickly.

· Good oral and written communication skills.

· Understanding or experience of social media (Twitter, Facebook and possibly Instagram and Tik ToK) (Don’t worry if you don’t know them all)

Other Relevant Interests:

An interest in connecting younger and older people, campaigning and community building would be an advantage.

Core tasks

· Support GWT staff to develop and create ideas for global intergenerational week

· Engage with your local community to create opportunities that connect different age groups

· Assist in the promotion of the intergenerational week to communities, organisations and charities within Scotland

· Share intergenerational week and intergenerational stories on social media

· Encourage uptake in intergenerational training provided by GWT

· Call education settings and care homes to promote intergenerational opportunities

· Support GWT in analysing the outcomes of the campaign

· Be ‘an ambassador’ for intergenerational work as / when possible, raising awareness of the project and of the benefits of intergenerational practice.

This role is flexible and can be done remotely.
