If you can see a challenge that you want to take on and turn into a project then Live UnLtd can help you make it happen.
This is achieved by offering awards of up to £5,000 to allow individuals to develop their enterprising idea and offering non-financial support from a Live UnLtd team member. Non-financial support can include budgeting advice, networking opportunities and working with volunteers.
For 16-21 year olds, the average award size is £1,500 – with a maximum award size of £5,000. Applications above the average award size are rare and very competitive so please encourage applicants to think carefully about what they really need when applying for an award. If youngsters are aged 11-15, they can apply for awards of up to £500 in addition to support from a Live UnLtd team member. All applicants under 18 years of age will need parental consent to undertake their project and a designated advisor to support them with the development and running of their project should their application be successful.
Key things to remember with regards to the Live UnLtd programme:
- Ideas have to be youth led;
- Applicants have to be individuals or small informal groups not youth clubs, schools etc – although young people supported by a teacher or youth worker may apply;
- Enterprises or projects must address a social problem in their community and applicants should be able to say how they will do this.
