Play and Storytelling the Intergenerational Way

Play and Storytelling the Intergenerational Way

Generations Working Together and Play Scotland are delighted to present and share this toolkit. Designed as a practical guide to support practitioners to develop intergenerational relationships through play and storytelling, you will find it packed with best practice, steps to take you through how to get started and other useful free resources from GWT and Play Scotland, alongside case studies and practitioners’ top tips and suggestions.

Play and storytelling are universal languages of connection, learning and exploration. Although the words themselves are often most commonly used with children, this toolkit guides the reader into seeing how the words describe human development, function and wellbeing through every age and stage.

We hope this resource will be used to develop confidence and support all those interested in building meaningful connections between younger and older people, as well as being part of a journey for practitioners and managers in recognising just how rich these golden threads are.
