International Certificate in Intergenerational Practice - Edition 14

Tuesday 19th January - Monday 15th March 2027
Online
This course is aimed at anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of intergenerational work, its purpose, impact and practical application to enable them to apply this within their own work. To ensure that students get the most from the course, we recommend that anyone with specific learning needs contact Lorraine prior to the course starting, to discuss how they can be supported.
Course details
The course will consist of three on-line modules taking approximately 75 hours to complete over 8 weeks. This course starts on Tuesday 19th January 2027 and finishes on Monday 15th March. Each student will receive support from an online tutor.
Meet & Greet Online Live Zoom Session
As part of the ICIP course, tutors like to meet and greet students and have an informal chat about the course, as well as providing an opportunity for students to meet each other and put a face to a name. The Meet & Greet session for this course will be on Tuesday 19th January at 4pm (London Time) via a Zoom link. Please make a note of this date/time if you are booking on to this course.
An introductory email will be sent out closer to the start date explaining how the course can be accessed, with the zoom link for the Meet & Greet session.
Tutor discussion sessions
There are also opportunities during the course to join discussion groups hosted by various tutors. These are not compulsory to attend and are in addition to the course content. They are recorded for those that cannot attend. Previous students have told us that they feel that the discussion sessions are the best part of the course as you have the opportunity to hear about current research and practice. Sessions will need to be booked with Lorraine.

Hear what our previous students had to say:
‘Very helpful, insightful and lots of useful reading and resources. Great support from tutors and good to engage with other students’.
‘If I were to repeat the course, I would not worry so much about my answers as you were given the freedom to just answer. This, I like as it took into consideration the creative side of people and allowed for misunderstandings. The feedback was always constructive and anything you missed in any activities/assignments were simply explained in a lovely manner’.
‘I have been really impressed by the resources pulled together to support learning on this course, both written and video. I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and have come to the end feeling more confident in my understanding of and ability to apply intergenerational principles and practice and to engage with others to design, develop and deliver concrete, ongoing intergenerational happenings’.
‘I found the optional zoom live sessions really useful in helping to get to know the other participants and tutors, and as a result, I felt more confident in posting comments to the forum/course cafe’.
‘The course cafe is great to hear from others and especially great to hear about other projects happening around the world. I found it very useful attending the other GWT virtual conversations and sessions held outside of the course’.
