Monday 24th January 2022, 2:30pm - 4:30pm
Zoom virtual meeting

Speakers

  • Simone Tomaz, Generating Older Active Lives Digitally (GOALD); University of Stirling
  • Hannah Bradwell, Generating Older Active Lives Digitally (GOALD); University of Plymouth

The GOALD Generating Older Active Lives Digitally project aims to establish how to design and deliver digital technologies to help older people lead more physically active lives. The project is a collaborative effort between the Universities of Stirling and Plymouth. Up until the end of 2021, the GOALD team have been working on developing baseline measures with the assistance of a steering group and testing the feasibility of some digital technology in care homes. In the first quarter of 2022, both older and younger people will be recruited to join our intergenerational co-production groups, where participants will review the latest technologies aimed at improving the physical activity levels and wellbeing of older people. Technologies include virtual reality headsets, tablets, treadmills, stationary bikes, and fitness apps. Simone and Hannah will talk about lessons learned so far and the next steps in the GOALD project.
