Social Innovation Fund

This fund is open to partnerships between at least one social economy organisation and one academic/research institution.

Funding has been made available by the Scottish Government to support projects that develop, test and scale up new ideas and solutions to tackle poverty and disadvantage. Partnerships can also include SME’s and Public Sector organisations, if appropriate.

There is a three stage approach for the funding:
Stage 1 – £30,000 to £50,000 for a maximum of 6 months to develop new, innovative and creative ideas and solutions to social problems;
Stage 2: £100,000 to £150,000 for a maximum of 12 months to test social innovation ideas/prototypes to find out if they work in practice and identify what works/what does not and why;
Stage 3: £150,000 to £250,000 to ‘successful’ Stage 2 projects for a maximum of 12 months for sustaining and/or scaling up and growing social innovations that work.

The deadline for applications is 17th February 2017.
