Manifesto

Help us make Scotland the first Intergenerational Nation.

In 2020 we launched our call for Scotland to become the first intergenerational nation, coinciding with the Scottish Government Election in 2021.

The manifesto identifies three areas and fifteen specific calls for action that we believe the Scottish Government elected for 2021 – 2026, and all elected representatives should focus on to help ensure that relationships between generations are strengthened and Scotland becomes more connected and inclusive.

These include:

  1. Embed intergenerational approaches in governance and policy making,
  2. Create more intergenerational places and spaces,
  3. Increase knowledge and understanding of intergenerational approaches.

Our Vision is for a Scotland where different generations are more connected, and everyone can build relationships that help to create a fairer society.

Please read the full manifesto including actions and reasons behind our asks.

If you are a political representative and would like to support our call for an intergenerational nation please contact our Policy Officer, Ruairidh Smith to discuss how you can get involved in connecting generations together.

We recognise the journey will take longer than a five-year parliamentary cycle to deliver fully on our asks, however, we believe that the next Scottish Parliament can lay the foundations for longer-term development and make progress with all our proposed actions.

We need support from public, private and third sector to make an intergenerational nation a reality. If you would like to join us in supporting Scotland to become an Intergenerational Nation please email Ruairidh Smith
