Community Choices Funding 2018-19

The Scottish Government has announced the latest round of the Community Choices Fund, giving community organisations and community councils an opportunity to run their own participatory budgeting (PB) events.

With £750,000 available, groups can apply for £20,000 – £100,000 to disperse using PB, as well as for support costs to help run the process.

Community-led, small grants events have shown to be a vital element of PB, bringing local people together to make better decisions for their communities.

This year, the wider Community Choices Fund will be focused on mainstreaming – using PB to decide on larger public budgets, as shown in a new film.

To support groups in Perth & Kinross to apply for this funding Perth & Kinross Council are hosting a drop in session on the Tuesday 26th of June from 1:30- 3:30 in PKAVS Gateway Centre, North Methven Street. This drop-in session is an opportunity for groups to find out more about applying, share their ideas about holding a PB event, and find out about the support we can offer groups if their funding bids are successful. If there is demand we can host additional drop-in sessions in other localities.

Groups who are interested in applying but are unable to attend the drop-in session, or who would like an informal discussion about the fund can email.
