Intergenerational Rebel Writing Campaign

The Scottish Book Trust is encouraging young people to submit a piece of writing based on stories gathered from older generations.

Rebel Rebel, pick up yer pen
Rebel Rebel, we want tae ken

As part of our annual campaign to get Scotland writing Scottish Book Trust are asking young people across the country to create a piece of personal or collaborative writing inspired by the 2018 theme Rebel!

We are encouraging young people to either submit a piece of writing based on their own experiences of rebellion or one that is based on stories gathered from older generations. If you are an organisation or group that brings young people (up to the age of 18) and older people together, why not ask them to connect with each other through sharing stories about times when they rebelled?

The young people involved can then submit their stories as part of our Rebel Writing Campaign. All stories will feature on the Scottish Book Trust website. Please note that the book trust is currently running funding for schools of up to £350 for activities and events associated with intergenerational book events on the theme. The deadline for applications of funding is 5th October 2018.

Deadline for stories – 5th October 2018.
