Volunteer - Local Network Coordinator

Local networks are designed to create opportunities for groups and individuals who would like to be kept up to date with what’s happening intergenerationally in their local area and nationally. Its also an opportunity to link with others in planning, delivering and evaluating meaningful intergenerational activities.

As of the Sept 2023 vacancies are available in the following areas:

  • Ayrshire
  • Caithness & Sutherland
  • Grampian
  • Highlands (Inverness and lower area)
  • Lanarkshire
  • Orkney

The volunteer’s main role will be to support a Generations Working Together (GWT) Development Officer to plan, coordinate & facilitate 2-3 network meetings per year in your local area, circulating information to colleagues and contacts and contributing to agendas and meeting reports.

Each volunteer will be a local champion for intergenerational work, a point of contact for people interested in developing intergenerational knowledge and confidence and someone to encourage local groups to showcase and share intergenerational stories and experience locally and possibly nationally via network meetings and on the GWT website.

Volunteers are able to access free and discounted training and support which will increase knowledge and confidence around how to develop and sustain good quality projects. GWT will cover reasonable expenses to volunteers for any travel relating to GWT meetings/ training and events.
